Diversity of styles is a hallmark of Roberto’s concerts and recitals. As a matter of fact he feels just as comfortable performing classical, baroque or avant-garde music as well as celtic, jazz or rock.
He has received various international prizes, such as the Diploma of Honor in the Torneo Internazionale di Musica, Concurso Internacional de Música “Paper de Musica” de Capellades, the Ángel Muñíz Toca Award and the Ciutat de Manresa Prize.
Chamber music and orchestra playing are two of Roberto’s passions. He has performed with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, the Asturias Symphony Orchestra, Oviedo Filarmonía, Bach-Akademie, the Algarve Orchestra, the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, Malaysian Philarmonic, working with the most renowned conductors.
La diversidad de estilos es un sello personal en los conciertos y recitales de Roberto. De hecho, se encuentra tan cómodo tocando música clásica, barroca, avant-garde, celta, jazz o rock.
Ha sido galardonado en varios concursos internacionales, como el Torneo Internazionale dei Musica, Paper de Musica de Capellades, Premio Ángel Muñiz Toca y Premio Ciutat de Manresa.
La música de cámara y orquestal son dos de las pasiones de Roberto. Ha actuado con Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Bach-Akademie, Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias, Oviedo Filarmonía, Orquesta del Algarve, Orquesta Sinfónica de Barcelona, Malaysian Philharmonic, trabajando con los más reconocidos directores de orquesta.
He shows his interest not only in classical formations, but has also participated in several jazz and folk groups, always looking for new sonorities for the flute, and has performed the music of his region, Asturias, all over the World.
Roberto’s passion for new music has led him to perform World Premieres very often in his recitals and recordings.
In addition to his performances he is an enthusiastic flute teacher, having given masterclasses in Youth Orchestras and several conservatories and festivals. He currently teaches at the School of the Arts and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, in Singapore.
Roberto is the Solo Piccolo at the Singapore Symphony Orchestra since July 2007.
Se muestra muy interesado no solamente en formaciones clásicas, sino también de jazz y folk, buscando siempre nuevas sonoridades para la flauta y difundiendo la música de su región, Asturias, por todo el mundo.
La pasión de Roberto por la música nueva le ha llevado a realizar estrenos absolutos de numerosas obras, tanto en conciertos como en grabaciones.
Además de su carrera como intérprete, es un profesor entusiasta. Ha realizado master-classes en jóvenes orquestas y conservatorios de todo el mundo. Actualmente es maestro en School of the Arts y Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, en Singapur.
Roberto es solista de piccolo en Singapore Symphony Orchestra desde julio de 2007.
